Il vicepresidente della Dark-Sky Switzerland, Ren\u00e9 Kobler ha ricevuto il premio Galileo, che \u00e8 la massima onorificenza europea assegnata annualmente dalla International Dark-Sky Association (IDA). Il premio \u00e8 stato consegnato durante il quarto “simposio europeo per la protezione del cielo notturno” svoltosi in settembre a Parigi.<\/p>\n

Il premio \u00e8 stato assegnato a Kobler per i suoi sforzi effettuati a favore della protezione del cielo notturno. Infatti da diversi anni Kobler si impegna per la lotta all’inquinamento luminoso, egli ha svolto diversi studi riguardanti le conseguenze dell’inquinamento luminoso e le contromisure. Kobler collabora attivamente con i Cantoni e i Comuni svizzeri che vogliono impegnarsi a preservare il cielo notturno.<\/p>\n

IDA Press Release Kobler is originally an architect by profession and was confronted first with light pollution while photographing the night-sky in the Swiss Alps.\u00a0 He decided to focus entirely on light pollution and quit his job to study environmental engineering and science to obtain a postgraduate degree in this field.<\/p>\n He is currently building an expert center for light pollution at the Institute of Environmental Technology in the Canton of Basel.
